Quality improvement expertise and support
Improvement methods are indispensable to improved patient outcomes, long-term population health and the reduction of health inequalities. They provide a structured, collaborative and inclusive approach to both sustained transformation and continuous improvement. A common approach at system level is to use the best of the varied improvement approaches available – from service transformation and lean six sigma to quality assurance and cultural change – to further embed these practices into everyday activities and organisational culture.
We believe that it is important to take a thoughtful and tailored approach to quality improvement, informed by evidence of ‘what works’. We are committed to working closely with the Health Foundation’s Q community as well as bodies such as Royal Colleges and academic partners to build evidence about what works, utilising this knowledge to support meaningful quality improvement.
