Resources for Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
This is a list of resources for use by NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in England.
Quality Accounts
https://www.hqip.org.uk/national-programmes/quality-accounts/
- HQIP supports NHS England in developing the Quality Accounts List
- The Medical Directorate at NHS England oversees Quality Accounts Reporting
The NHS Standard Contract requires relevant providers of NHS services to participate in any national programme included on the NHS England Quality Accounts List (and in NCAPOP) – of particular relevance is ‘SC26 Clinical Networks, National Audit Programmes and Approved Research Studies’ specifically 26.1.2 and sub bullets 26.1.2.1 / 26.1.2.2 / 26.1.2.3’.
Non-participation by healthcare providers in NCAPOP is covered by our outlier process – please see the below link for further information relating outliers and non-participation: https://www.hqip.org.uk/outlier-management-for-national-clinical-audits/.
The Directory
https://www.hqip.org.uk/resource/national-clinical-audit-and-enquiries-directory/
- The HQIP Directory is a useful tool in assisting healthcare providers with planning their audit activity each year. A revised version of the Directory is released ahead of each financial year, with updates made on a monthly basis as needed.
- The Directory includes information on NCAPOP programmes that report at ICS level – as an example; the Maternal, Newborn and Infant Clinical Outcome Review Programme (Perinatal Mortality Surveillance) https://timms.le.ac.uk/mbrrace-uk-perinatal-mortality/data-viewer/
Reports, recommendations and infographics
- HQIP publish many clinical audit and outcome reports every year and each report contains multiple recommendations for improvement. To help NHS Trust Boards and commissioning organisations to maintain oversight of those reports for all areas of service delivery, we’ve created a single point of reference ‘recommendations repository’ (https://www.hqip.org.uk/reports-recommendations-and-infographics/)).
- NCAPOP resources will also be of particular relevance to Clinical Audit/Effectiveness teams; resources for trusts can be found at NHS Trusts – HQIP, including links to the forward looking ‘9 month publication schedule’ (https://www.hqip.org.uk/ncapop-9-month-publication-schedule/).
