Reports | Published: 11 Feb 2021

This is the seventeenth annual Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet) clinical audit report documenting paediatric critical care activity which occurred in the United Kingdom (UK) and Republic of Ireland (ROI) between 2017 and 2019. Information on five key metrics related to Paediatric Intensive Care services is provided: case ascertainment including timeliness of data submission, retrieval mobilisation times, number of qualified nurses per bed, emergency readmissions within 48 hours and mortality in PICU.

Individual tables and figures can be downloaded in electronic form from the PICANet website. These additional resources comprehensively describe admissions, referrals and transport activity within PICUs over the last three years.
