This is the 2009 Annual Report of the National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit (NOGCA). It builds on the procedures and findings of a previous round of the audit, which began in October 2006.

This report centres on the treatments received by patients diagnosed between 1 October 2007 and 30 September 2008, together with their short-term outcomes of care. Longer-term outcomes of care will be the focus of the 2010 Annual Report when the collection of data will have finished.

This audit is part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP).
