Reports | Published: 15 Jun 2018

This is the fourth MBRRACE-UK Perinatal Mortality Surveillance Report and provides information on extended perinatal deaths in the UK and Crown Dependencies arising from births during 2016. MBRRACE-UK are commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) to undertake the Maternal, Newborn and Infant Clinical Outcome Review Programme (MNI-CORP).

The aims of the MNI-CORP are to collect, analyse and report national surveillance data and conduct national confidential enquiries in order to stimulate and evaluate improvements in health care for mothers and babies.

The report focuses on the surveillance of all late fetal losses (22+0 to 23+6 weeks gestational age), stillbirths, and neonatal deaths, with data presented by country, by geographical area (commissioners and individual Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) or country of residence), by health care provider (Trusts or Health Boards and Neonatal Networks) and by Local Authority.
