Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2024 – Promotional toolkit

Clinical Audit Awareness Week #CAAW24 (24-28 June 2024) is a national annual campaign, featuring the Clinical Audit Heroes Awards, that promotes and celebrates the impact of clinical audit in healthcare.

While it is hosted by HQIP in collaboration with N-QI-CAN, it is the clicnical audit, quality improvement and wider healthcare communities (and the multitude of events and activities that you organise), that make this event a success.

To support #CAAW24 activities in your organisation, find below a toolkit of resources you can download and share. Feel free to adapt these materials for your organisation or team but please do not remove the HQIP or NQICAN branding.

Social media and digital resources

Join in the celebrations by sharing what you’re doing on social media using the hashtag #CAAW24. For example, you could ask your organisation’s communications team about hosting a ‘twitter takeover’, where you take over the reins of the corporate account for a day to give followers an insight into your work. If that’s not possible, ask them for advice about how you can support them to promote clinical audit.

Note: Images are a good way of increasing engagement online – a camera phone will produce sufficiently good quality images. However, if you want to post a photo, please make sure that everyone in shot has given their consent, not just for their photo to be taken but also for it to be shared on social media. Your organisation may have a signed consent form – check with your Communications team. Also note that some social media platforms allow you to include an image description so you don’t exclude people with visual impairments. You can add this by clicking at the bottom of the picture you’re uploading.

Content for sharing

Here we provide suggested content that can act as a template to help you share your news around #CAAW24. Please personalise it by making it specific to you and your team (the quote is a suggestion – you can adapt that too). You can then share it on your intranet, hospital magazine or newsletter, or share it by email. Include photographs where possible (a camera phone will produce sufficiently good quality images). Please contact your communications team to make sure you’re following your organisation’s procedures and protocols.

Show your appreciation and thanks to your colleagues. You can give them a certificate to let them know how much you appreciate their support; send them a thank you card or postcard; or email your thanks with an e-card. Use the animated e-card to share your thanks on social media.
