Template policy & strategy
A snapshot review of Clinical Audit Policies and Strategies available in the public domain undertaken as part of the initial phase of the product development process highlighted that these two terms are being used interchangeably amongst NHS trusts, with a lack of consensus about the elements that would make up either document.
These products provide a suggested approach to developing a local Clinical Audit Policy and a Clinical Audit Strategy. A framework is set out for both documents. In the case of the Policy in particular, this is supported by example text which could be adapted to suit an organisation's particular needs and circumstances. There are fewer examples in the Strategy product as the content will necessarily be unique to each organisation.
