National Vascular Registry 2020 Annual Report

This report provides information on emergency and elective vascular procedures for the period 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2019 for the following patient groups:

  1. Patients who have a repair procedure for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA).
  2. Patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) who undergo either
    (a) lower limb angioplasty/stent,
    (b) lower limb bypass surgery, or
    (c) lower limb amputation
  3. Patients who undergo carotid endarterectomy or carotid stenting abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and patients who undergo carotid endarterectomy or carotid stenting.

Due to the unprecedented impact that the Covid-19 pandemic had on the delivery of NHS health services during 2020, some preliminary results are provided for the period between 1 January 2020 and 30 June 2020 which can be found at the end of chapter 1. There is also a separate short report presenting data on the impact of Covid-19 on vascular services.
