New resources published May 2026

We are pleased to announce that the following NEW RESOURCES to support improvement in healthcare, from HQIP’s audits and programmes, have been published:

• Asthma & COPD – Wales primary care; National Respiratory Audit Programme (NRAP). This report recommends that two key areas are prioritised: enhancing the accuracy and consistency of data recording; and strengthening healthcare improvement initiatives.
• Patients who do not undergo emergency laparotomy; National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA). This report focuses on patients presenting with radiological and/or clinical suspicion of bowel perforation or bowel ischaemia that would ordinarily warrant emergency surgical intervention, but for whom a decision was made not to proceed with surgery.

• Mental health: Patient suicide data Q4 update (2012-2024, UK and Jersey); Mental Health Clinical Outcome Review Programme (NCISH) 
• Cardiovascular disease: December 2025 data; National Audit of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention (CVDPrevent)
