Free webinars

Register for free national webinars, part of Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2026, offering clinicians, clinical audit and improvement professionals the opportunity to explore how data-driven insight can transform patient care. Topics include the role of healthcare data in delivering the NHS 10-year plan, patient safety, innovation, patient involvement and addressing healthcare equalities.

About the showcase

Have you led an audit or audit-based quality improvement project that actually changed practice? Did your project go beyond data collection and lead to a real improvement for patients?

We are inviting resident doctors to submit examples of outstanding practice in translating clinical audit findings into measurable improvements in patient care.

The winning submission will be invited to showcase their work on a national stage via a virtual presentation on 26 June 2026 during Clinical Audit Awareness Week (#CAAW26). Valued by policymakers, clinicians, healthcare leaders and clinical audit staff alike, this annual, national campaign aims to improve and save lives by promoting and celebrating the critical role of clinical audit and data-driven healthcare improvement.

Why apply?

Whether your project improved safety, efficiency, patient experience, or clinical outcomes, we want to hear about it. This is an opportunity to:

  • Showcase your work on a national stage
  • Gain evidence for your portfolio, appraisals and interview discussions
  • Have your work featured as a case study on HQIP’s website and shared to clinicians, healthcare planners and audit and improvement professionals via HQIP’s email bulletin and social media channels
  • Inspire peers across the country and contribute to a culture where audit leads to real change.

We are particularly interested in projects that demonstrate:

  • Clear identification of a clinical problem and effective use of audit methodology
  • Implementation of change (not just measurement)
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration and a sustainable impact on patient care.

Use of national standards or national clinical audit (such as audits that are part of the NCAPOP) is also welcomed, but not essential.

Submission requirements

Applicants should submit a summary of maximum 500 words that includes:

  • Background and rationale
  • Use of audit and key findings
  • Actions taken to implement change
  • Evidence of improvement and lessons learned.

Key dates

  • Submission deadline: 30 April 2026 (12pm midday).
  • Shortlisting notification: 22 May 2026
  • National webinar presentation: Clinical Audit Awareness Week, 26 June 2026

This is your opportunity to demonstrate that audit is not just a requirement, but a powerful driver of better patient care. We look forward to celebrating your work.
