Clinical Audit Awareness Week is here!

Published: 13 Jun 2022

Today (Monday 13 June 2022) marks the start of Clinical Audit Awareness Week (#CAAW22) – a week-long campaign, run in collaboration with the National Quality Improvement (incl. Clinical Audit) Network (N-QI-CAN), that celebrates the benefits and impact of clinical audit and quality improvement work in healthcare.

Who are this year’s Clinical Audit Heroes?

This year’s campaign centres around the Clinical Audit Heroes Awards which recognise share and learn from the work taking place to improve the quality of healthcare for patients and users of services.

There are five award categories this year: Patient Safety Hero, Patient Advocate Hero, Influencing Change Hero, Health Inequalities Hero and Future-proofing Healthcare Hero. Nominations had to be made by 6 May and the winners of each will now be announced during Clinical Audit Awareness Week at a series of daily Lunch & Learn events…

N-QI-CAN will be hosting these five online events, from 12.30pm-2pm every day during the week of 13-17 June. Each day will focus on a different topic that aligns with our award categories, with speakers from across the sector presenting. Details are as follows:

Colleagues from across the sector are encouraged to get involved and hold their own local events to help raise awareness of the role that clinical audit plays as a driver for improvement, both locally and nationally, to make our health services better for everyone.

There is a #CAAW22 toolkit with a range of resources available to download – including social media graphics, posters and thank you cards – to support CAAW22 activities in your organisations.
