Interventional cardiology (percutaneous coronary interventions)
About
Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) has been included in the Consultant Outcomes Publication (COP) programme since its start in 2012. The National Audit of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (NAPCI) is managed by the National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (NICOR) at the University College London (UCL). Clinical direction and strategy for the audit is provided by the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgeons (SCTS) and the project board.
Under the COP programme, NAPCI provides comparative data on the provision of percutaneous interventions in the UK. The audit aims to describe the quality and patterns of care at consultant level, and the process of care and outcomes for patients.
