What resources are available for delivering successful audit at trust and PCT level?

Trusts will need to find adequate capacity to support audit work from within their core funding - there is no additional funding available. However, given the central role quality plays in the NHS, investment in audit should be seen as essential to good quality practice, and has the potential to save money where improvements can be demonstrated.

HQIP intends to develop standards and guidance about what constitutes high quality support for national and local clinical audit in trusts.
