Please see the resources for trainee doctors webpage where you will find a range of information and guidance that you may find helpful.

This guide is intended to support healthcare professionals who are responsible for leading clinical audit or quality management systems in healthcare organisations. Clinical leads have a key role to play in ensuring that clinical audit delivers improvements in the quality of care, and this guide sets out the requirements of the role. It should also be useful for medical and clinical directors and for clinical audit managers.

It sets out the key requirements of a Clinical Audit Lead and provides information to aid healthcare professionals in undertaking this role effectively.

This guide was most recently updated in 2016 by Healthcare Quality Quest (HQQ).

HQIP also has a QI resource called ‘A guide to quality improvement tools‘.
