NHS Choices is an online service designed to provide patients, carers and the public with all the information they need to stay healthy and to make decisions about the health and care services they need. Developed by the Department of Health in conjunction with health professionals, NHS Choices is fulfilling the transformational government agenda and meeting the needs of a 21st-century service in health and social care.

NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHSQIS) is a special health board which leads the use of knowledge to promote improvement in the quality of healthcare for the people of Scotland. They work with organisations that treat patients or manage health services directly, to help them improve the care they deliver and aim to achieve excellence in the care of every patient, every time.

The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) is the independent body responsible for monitoring and inspecting the availability and quality of health and social care services in Northern Ireland, and encouraging improvements in the quality of those services. Their role is to ensure that health and social care services in Northern Ireland are accessible, well managed and meet the required standards. They will work to ensure that there is openness, clarity and accountability in the management and delivery of all these services.
