Expression of interest: National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer audit

HQIP is pleased to announce the expression of interest for the national clinical audit of Oesophago-Gastric Cancer (OGC).

This expression of interest notice for a public contract was placed on OJEC on 8/4/10.

OGC Audit was established in October 2006 and is a collaboration between the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS), The British Society of Gastroenterology (BGS), The Clinical Effectiveness Unit (CEU) of the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) of England and the National Clinical Audit Support Programme (NCASP) of the Information Centre for Health and Social Care (The NHS IC).

OGC audit will aim to measure the quality of care received by patients with OGC in England and Wales and will look to answer audit questions relating to: The timescale of the process of care, The determinants of treatment and outcomes, The proportion of patients treated palliatively and its determinants, The shorts-term outcomes of surgical treatment, The survival and health status of patients at 1 year after diagnosis, Patient quality of life and patient experience with care.

The supplier is expected to manage the project to cost, quality and time using a sound recognised project management and audit methodology, to work with identifiable stakeholders and to set up a multidisciplinary board, implementation group and project team.

The supplier must demonstrate throughout the projects duration the ability to maintain good and effective working relationships with the key professional bodies and clinicians at local level supplying the data.

HQIP seeks an expression of interest from suppliers with vast experience in specialised clinical, academic leadership and governance as the contract requires sufficient specialised clinical, academic leadership and governance to ensure successful delivery of the project.

DURATION: Three years.
