National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD)

The National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD) was commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) on behalf of NHS England, NHS Wales, the Health and Social Care Division of the Scottish Government, and the Northern Ireland Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS).

NRAD was run by a consortium of asthma professional and patient bodies led by the Clinical Effectiveness and Evaluation Unit (CEEU) at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), as part of the centrally-funded National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP). NRAD looked into the circumstances surrounding deaths from asthma between 1 February 2012 – 30 January 2013.
