What is a national clinical audit? Achieving high quality national clinical audit

NCEPOD

The National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD) is an independent organisation which undertakes clinically led confidential reviews into the quality of care received by medical and surgical patients.

Data are collected from all NHS and independent sector hospitals in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, also Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.

NCEPOD publishes at least two new reports each year, on different topics, which detail recommendations that will improve the quality of care received by patients. Our multidisciplinary peer review approach to all data ensures that the findings and recommendations made are clinically robust.
