National Ambulance Audit Steering Group
The group's purpose is to:
- support the strategic development and co-ordination of clinical audit and quality improvement in ambulance services
- encourage a coherent, consistent and coordinated framework for clinical audit and quality improvement across ambulance services and, where appropriate, at the interface between ambulance services and other parts of the health service
- increase the capacity, skills and techniques for clinical quality improvement in ambulance services
- inform the development of Clinical Performance Indicators for ambulance services
- ensure that local clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives are integrated in the wider strategic vision and business plans of individual ambulance trusts
- encourage dissemination of quality improvement initiatives through publications and presentations at regional, national and international forums
- actively link clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives with educational programmes for ambulance and pre-hospital services so that the impact of educational interventions on patient care can be measured.
Membership is open to ambulance service clinical audit leads and invited co-opted members.
