Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia commonly starts in early adult life with approximately 250,000 people affected at some point during their lifetime. There is both sub-optimal practice and wide variation across clinical teams in important aspects of the management of schizophrenia. Good prescribing for schizophrenia requires achieving a balance between the beneficial and adverse effects of medication. The national audit will compare practice in England and Wales with standards drawn from national practice guidelines.
