9 September 2008: As part of its aim to support and enable a culture of quality improvement through the reinvigoration of audit, HQIP has appointed two key roles to its local quality improvement team (LQIT).
Darren Thorne joins as the National Lead for Local Quality Improvement and brings with him almost 15 years of experience. He has an extensive background in both primary and secondary care at local, regional and national level and will provide day-to-day management of the quality improvement team and its activities - including the promotion of audit to local practitioners and the development of a library of resources for quality improvement.
Jabeen Haque joins as the Local Quality Improvement Facilitator from a background in quality facilitation within health and social care.
Their programme of work will focus on four key areas:
The team welcomes opportunities to meet with those leading established networks and to hear from people who are interested in setting up their own local or regional network. They are also looking to meet with Trusts who have developed or implemented local best practice or would like support with local clinical audit issues.
