HQIP links with UKQC for funding seminars and guidance work
7 September 2010
HQIP’s partnership with the UK Quality Collaboration (UKQC) goes live later this month with the first of two working group seminars.
The events are designed to develop a set of consensus recommendations for providers on how best to meet the challenges presented by restricted NHS funding, without compromising on seeking quality improvement in healthcare. Hosted by HQIP at its London offices, these seminars will bring together experts in quality improvement, including representatives from the Royal Colleges, NHS Confederation, Health Foundation and Nuffield Trust.
The first workshop takes place on 24 September, where the basis for a recommendations document will be established, with the second on 19 October to finalise the document. Around 20 people are expected to attend both days.
The recommendations document will then be formally launched at the Royal Society of Medicine event
‘Money Talks: Improving quality to save costs’ on 22 November at the society’s central London headquarters, and will also be available to download from the HQIP website.
“New approaches are needed to ensure that the business case for quality and safety can be made, and programmes of QI protected – making the case that providers can save money in the long term, and improve quality,” commented HQIP Chief Executive Robin Burgess.
