Welcome to HQIP's online learning area – a series of flexible and free to use education packages on a number of subjects related to clinical audit and to healthcare quality improvement in general.

HQIP has so far commissioned four of these resources:

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CLINICAL AUDIT TRAINING FOR CLINICIANS
Overview:

This package is comprised of four complimentary sessions.

Covering 1-2 hours study time, these four elements are:
  1. Thinking about doing clinical audit;
  2. Identifying and collecting data;
  3. Analysing and interpreting data;
  4. Feedback and changing practice.

TRANSFORMING CLINICAL AUDIT DATA INTO QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS
Overview:

The covers the stages in clinical audit once the audit has been designed and data collected, outlining what to do to transform the data into tangible improvements in care.

The package consists of slide presentations with voice-overs. The package has and introduction and six modules, each taking 30-45 minutes to complete:
  1. Checking clinical audit findings;
  2. Reporting clinical audit findings;
  3. Analysing variation in clinical practice;
  4. Analysing shortcomings in patient care;
  5. Planning and taking the right actions to achieve improvement;
  6. Checking if improvement was achieved.
