Quality Accounts 2012-13 consultation: have your say

2 November 2011

HQIP is now responsible for overseeing the process by which national audits are included in the list to be reported on within Quality Accounts (QA).

This year for the first time, this will be a consultative process, and HQIP will obtain views from local stakeholders and national clinical bodies and organisations as to the list of audits to be included for 2012-13 QA, alongside a review against revised criteria. The full criteria are found via the link below:  please review this, and our guidance on what is quality in national audit (again, linked below), in preparing your submissions on this form.

Take the national clinical audits for inclusion in Quality Accounts consultation survey now >>

Users can nominate as many audits for inclusion in QA 2012-13 as they wish. The survey asks users to nominate an audit and then agree or disagree as to whether in your opinion your nominated audits meet acceptable standards across 10 criteria. Against each there is also option to add brief comment.

The initial survey form provides options to include from one to 50 audits. Once you have completed your list, scroll down to the very bottom (after Q101) and click ‘Done'.

If you wish to nominate more than 50 audits, please submit another survey until you have included the amount you wish to nominate. Please note, users may have to use a different computer for each survey entry due to technical restrictions.

IMPORTANT: To aid collation of data: 1) when submitting secondary forms, please copy the exact text containing your personal details (question one) into subsequent survey submissions and 2) do not enter the same audit more than once across your submitted form(s).

HQIP wants this to be as open a consultation as possible and as such does not wish to be proscriptive in suggesting which projects may be deemed suitable by stakeholders for inclusion in QA. However, there are many NCAs to consider, so for reference purposes only, links are enclosed below to NCAPOP, HQIP's listing of ‘Other national clinical audits' and the list of Quality Accounts 2011-12, created by NCAAG and agreed by the DH.

Consultation runs from 11 November until 9 December 2011 and the final list will be published in the first week of January 2012. The criteria for inclusion will also alter slightly, so that only audits which comply with governmental aspirations regarding outcomes and transparency or results will be included.
