Clinical audit and registry consultancy resource to launch
2 November 2011
As part of its four-point improvement plan for health and social care quality improvement announced today (2 November 2011), HQIP is pleased to announce plans to create a consultancy resource.
To be used by national and local audits and registries, the resource aims to put projects in need of direct support in touch with individuals, organisations and companies with the relevant skills and knowledge.
"By establishing this marketplace of potential suppliers, it will aid clinicians and audit staff in finding support more efficiently," commented HQIP Chief Executive Robin Burgess. "Searching and sourcing recommendations can be time consuming and it is widely recognised that registries and audits do require one-to-one consultancy to ensure quality outcomes. Part of our role is to offer national guidance and advice for best practice in clinical audit, so it is right that HQIP establish and administer this list, to support colleagues in the field."
In compiling the resource, HQIP will undertake a basic assessment and mapping exercise of competence and expertise only, no recommendations will be made nor will any fees be payable to HQIP.
Dependent upon response rates, HQIP is hopeful of having the first version of what will be a continually updated resource available on www.hqip.org.uk in early 2012.
HQIP welcomes individuals, organisations or companies with the following skills to apply and applications can be made at any time:
- Running local audits, registers or audit programmes
- Running national audits and registers
- Developing or providing supporting IT for data collection
- Providing data collection hardware (handheld devices etc)
