Clinical audit and commissioning
When PCT's commission care for their patients they need assurance that it is of the highest clinical quality. There are a number of national initiatives that provide assurance of care quality, many of which include clinical audit. This guide is primarily for NHS commissioners but is also relevant to provider organisations. It considers drivers for audit and how they could be included in contracts and performance monitoring.
